Good And Bad Conspiracy Theories

Tue Nov 09, 2004 at 11:25:35 PM PDT

Come to my house, walk up the stairs, through the hallway, enter my kitchen, check through all my cupboards and cabinets...and you will not find any tin foil.

So let me get this straight.

According to pretty much every influential left-leaning blogger:

It is not a "conspiracy theory" to suggest (and post pictures) that Bush wore a wire during the debates.

Kerry's Team America Still Active

Tue Nov 09, 2004 at 10:22:42 PM PDT

I just saw this letter posted on Ledge of Liberty which was supposedly written by John Kerry's brother, Cameron Kerry.  (I found it via a link at Crucial Quotesblogspot:

Kerry Investigates Voter Fraud

Letter from Cam Kerry:

I am grateful to the many people who have contacted me to express their deep concern about questions of miscounting, fraud, vote suppression, and other problems on election day, especially in Florida and Ohio. Their concern reflects how much people care about the outcome of this election. I want to you to know we are not ignoring it.

Why Ohio Might Face A Recount, Anyway

Wed Nov 03, 2004 at 10:50:59 PM PDT

Ohio Statute 3515.011: Recount when winning margin less than one-half per cent of total vote (Moritz Law):  "If the number of votes cast in any statewide election for the declared winning nominee, candidate, question, or issue does not exceed the number of votes cast for the declared defeated nominee, candidate, question, or issue by a margin of one-fourth of one per cent or more of the total vote, the secretary of state shall order a recount which shall be conducted as provided in sections 3515.04 and 3515.05 of the Revised Code."

Are Our Troops Dying For Paxcon?

Mon Nov 01, 2004 at 09:28:20 PM PDT

In my last post, Cocaine, Wrestling & George Bush Part 4, I wrote about Line-X Paxcon, a spray-on polyeurothane that supposedly offers bomb-blast protection. This Fox News report shows a brick sprayed with Paxcon paint that doesn't fall apart when dropped from a great height. Fox News

This past Sunday, 60 Minutes ran a disturbing storyfeaturing correspondent Steve Kroft entitled "GIs Lack Armor, Radios, Bullets" that dealt with some troops from the 343rd Quartermaster Company who refused to go on a "suicide mission" because they lacked armored vehicles. It also included an interview with Karen Preston, the mother of a soldier currently deployed in Iraq named Ryan who is serving with the Oregon National Guard."

Republicans Lying About Help America Vote Act

Mon Nov 01, 2004 at 01:18:53 PM PDT

Please go to this right wing website (Cassandra Page and support me in getting the truth out(then follow the links to the other right wing blogs that are doing the same). Republicans are writing stuff like: "In addition, every person voting for the first time in the precinct must display proper identification. This is not an option, but a requirement of the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002"

In fact, the voting rights act does not require every person voting for the first time to display proper identification. That only applies to people who registered to vote by mail...who do not include several different kinds of identification with their registration.

First time voters who registered to vote while getting a drivers licence...for example...do not have to show id at the polling places.

Why The Wolves Cry Wolf

Wed Oct 27, 2004 at 10:36:50 PM PDT

Remember November to December of 2000? Of course, you do. Remember how the Republicans managed to steal the election all-the-while pretending that it was the Democrats ("Sore Loserman") who were trying to steal it? Well, they're at it again. But this time they're starting early.

URGENT: New York City Voting Fraud?

Tue Oct 26, 2004 at 06:26:24 PM PDT

I live in Brooklyn, New York, and I registered to vote on the last day possible before the election (I've moved 4 times within Brooklyn over the last year).  I received my acknowledgment notice about a week ago which told me I was registered and the location of my polling place.

Last night, I noticed that the acknowledgment notice said "registration effective on 11/09/04...Let's just say I freaked out...

Cocaine, Wrestling & George Bush Part 3

Sun Oct 24, 2004 at 12:36:15 AM PDT

The Philadelphia Inquirer posted an article today that disputes the role George W. Bush played in Operation P.U.L.L.: Some dispute Bush account of '73 charity work.  Meg Laughlin writes, "Some former associates of White, who died in 1988, speaking on the record for the first time, say that Bush wasn't helping to run the program but was instead a volunteer, and that White hadn't asked Bush to come aboard. Instead, the associates said, White told them he agreed to take Bush on as a favor to Bush's father, who was honorary cochairman of the program at the time. They say White, a tight end for the Houston Oilers in the '60s, told them Bush had gotten into some kind of trouble, but White never gave them specifics."

Finally, someone other than little old me (and the late James Hetfield) is beginning to investigate this shadowy period of the silver spoonhead's life - a time which should have been spent fulfilling his commitment to the Texas Air National Guard.

How To Make Fibs and Influenza People

Fri Oct 22, 2004 at 01:03:29 AM PDT

The Bush Administration is lying (can you believe it?) about their role in the flu shot shortage. Check out this fantastic blog post from the O'Franken Factor website written by James Norton: Truth, Lies, And the Flu. Mr. Norton has another great article about this at Flak Magazine.

Rather than reiterate Mr. Norton's excellent points I decided to dig a little bit deeper myself (a helluva dig for me since I don't, uh, "dig" science).

How Karl Rove May Beat Michael Moore

Sat Oct 16, 2004 at 10:28:33 PM PDT

This is a transcript of a conversation between RNC chairman Ed Gillespie and Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to the President Karl Rove that may have taken place a week-and-a-half ago:

Bush Admits He Stole Election

Wed Oct 06, 2004 at 08:14:40 PM PDT

In his performance today at the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, President Bush started to confess, then caught himself, then said, "Screw it, nobody cares."

Cons From a Neo-Con

Tue Oct 05, 2004 at 10:30:19 PM PDT

Instead of stubbornly sticking with the "flip-flop" strategy that bombed in the first Kerry-Bush debate, Dick consistently deployed the term "consistency."  While Senator Edwards used it first, Dick threw it back at him.  Again.  And again.  And again.  And again (and Dick's probably somewhere RIGHT NOW still saying it).

Psychic Right Wingers For Truth

Tue Sep 28, 2004 at 08:22:22 PM PDT

There's really not much point in arguing with a right winger. Especially when they happen to be clairvoyant right wingers.

Meet the Truth for Troops brigade. True believers who claim to believe in the truth but who do so primarily on faith and brand recognition.
